His Grace Philipose Mar Chrysostom Mar Thoma Valiya Thirumeni was the world’s longest serving Bishop, serving for 67 years, 11 months and 12 days. His spiritual leadership and sense of direction is a great blessing for the church and society. Thirumeni’s talk contained humorous words and action. Considering the contributions of Thirumeni to Theology the Serampore University honoured him by awarding a Doctorate Degree. Taking into account the services to society, the nation decided to award India’s civilian award, the Padma Bhushan in 2018. Thirumeni was called to Eternity on 5th May 2021 at 1:15 AM.
